Applying science to inform on-ground actions for conserving Wodonga’s threatened wildlife

Client: Albury Conservation Company

Description: We worked with Wodonga Council and other public land managers to identify 50 suitable sites for a habitat enrichment project. At each site we installed a traditional plywood nest box, a Habitech modular nest box, and an augmented hollow with the objective of determining any species preference for the habitat types over time. Annual monitoring of target species occupancy and regular monitoring of the thermal properties within each box type will inform which habitat type is best suited for future projects based on target species, existing habitats and project budgets.
