Threatened Species Monitoring Program
Client: Albury Conservation Company
Description: Biannual (autumn and spring) monitoring of ~130 sites across Albury-Wodonga to monitor for presence/ absence of Squirrel Gliders using motion sensing cameras. This data enables long-term strategic planning for urban growth by both Councils based on identification of keystone habitats, critical linkages and corridors, and recommendations for public land management and on-ground works.
Targeted surveys for the EPBC Act listed Sloane’s Froglet (Endangered) across Albury-Wodonga to identify key habitat, potential habitat and opportunities for land management and habitat enrichment. Habitat mapping and modelling delivered by this Project informs Council’s statutory and strategic planning process regarding development of land in the growth corridor where this endangered species’ habitat exists.
